Thrifting & Drifting

So the spending ban is in full swing, i have only bought a bottle of pepsi max and put money on my oyster card, its going really well, and even when i went shopping to the east end thrift store, beyond retro and other wondrous places i didn’t spend a penny, well i lent £11 to my brothers so he could buy some burgundy vintage braces. Even though i found my ideal and perfect satchel in beyond retro for £30 i resisted. Rather proud of myself. Don’t worry, i am not tormenting myself, just riding myself of un-wanted and un-necessary purchases, its actually a good feeling when you walk out of a shop without anything, i am taking the time to window shop for ideas. I like window shopping.

So on friday,we venture to the east end thrift store, my lack of spending and saul’s lack of pennies, meant that we were just browsing,  they have lots of wonderful things, and also an alterations sections which is really cool. Then on through the back streets of whitechapel and onto brick lane one of my favorite parts of the east end. We bumped into like a million jack the ripper tours, we sat and had a wonderful picnic and listened to a boy playing a very small guitar. Saul bought some braces, he is worst then me if he wants something he will get it, hehe being a good older sister i spoilt him and gave in and lent him so many, i do like to see my family happy. So there was my no-spending-vintage-thrifty-picnic day out.

…..Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments about my first Thrifty Thursday, i am grateful for ever wonderful comment and kind word. I really enjoyed getting back into creating, this is something i have been wanting to do in a while. I am glad i took the steps… even if they were small baby steps, i am having such a great time blogging at the moment.

I am still trying to re-brand a few things over at RubyRaeLove, i am thinking of changing the name to something more personal not to sure yet.

Talking of thrifty thursday you will be in for a treat this week, i am currently working on a few ideas and they include lots of little vintage jewels and trinkets, i want to get everyone thriftying and making. I will also be writing a little feature on other creations that will include the likes of the head-dresses i make.

I really ought to give myself a shopping ban – but I'm not sure that I'd be able to show the restraint!

I absolutely adore your pictures, they are so inspiring.
On another note, I've never been to a thrift store but would like to. I also don't know if I saw my perfect bag I would be able to show the restraint that you did. You're doing so well on the spending ban. I think I'd like to join you on that one.
I really love you blog, and I'm so glad that you're enjoying writing it as much as I'm enjoying reading it.
