Inspired by Frida

all floral illustrations created by ella masters so please do not use without permission.

Welcome to my new feature Inspired by... this is the first of many, this week i am inspired by Frida Kahlo, if you want to find the original festival style head-dress: look no further then Frida. A beautiful inspiring female who's work inspired me whilst I was doing my fine art degree, if you haven't seen the film Frida yet please do!.
When I think of Frida i think of block colours entwined with floral patterns. I have selected a few pieces that jumped out at me. Her paintings  are thick with colour, pattern and symbolism. I absolutely love the Bold-en heels a lovely mix of 1950's chic and block colours.

  4. Love it! I went to a 'women's day' yesterday, so it's nice to see a feature inspired by a strong 'modern' woman with her own style.

  7. I first learnt about Frida from watching the movie with Salma Hayek...it is so beautiful. Since then Frida has been one of my favorite artists of all time, so much so I found myself in tears when I saw one of her paintings in real life!
I love the mood board you've put together so colourful and fun, I especially love the bowl!
