Our thrifty adventures in Hastings

A few weeks ago we went on an adventure to hastings in search of second hand saddlery tools for my brother. The old part of hastings reminds me a little of falmouth, the arty community is lovely. The day was filled with lots of lovely food, and thrifting, both things my family do really well. I managed to find myself a few lovely things, there was so much I wish I had bought but I was limiting myself due to the lack of space in my room. Conor managed to pick up some lovely antique saddlery tools for a really reasonable price. I hadn’t been back to hastings since I broke up with my ex-boyfriend so it was really lovely to spend time to full back in love with the seaside and hastings. It also helped that i stuffed my face with chips and a strawberry slush puppy whilst sat on the beach watching the seagulls fight over fish. I really would suggest to anyone wanting to take a day trip to head to hastings because the quality of antiques and shops is second to none, also the price of vintage suitcases is amazing, if thats not a reason to go i don’t know what is.

I have very fond memories of Hastings as my grandparents used to live there. I have probably not been there for about 15 years. I am intrigued to go back as I hear there are lots of lovely old shops to behold the eye, so I'm itching to get myself down there. I remember the tram that goes up the hill, though I have never been on it. I like the Mrs. Beeton's box, the rock specimens and those carpets remind me of the Weasley's house in Harry Potter. I want my house to look like theirs.

I went to Hastings on a family holiday years and years ago and it was one of my favourite adventure holidays ever. I remember I got all excited because my friend was going to Battle at the time, and we though we were really cool going to Battle and Hastings, we just needed someone to go to 'Of' and it would be perfect haha! (: Nothing beats fish and chips on the beach in my opinion, as long as the seagulls don't steal them! xx

I've never been to Hastings as I have always lived by the far easterly coast of Suffolk/Norfolk/Essex. You certainly cannot beat the British seaside, and regardless of the weather, fish and chips will always be a winner (apart from one time in Sheringham where a plague of sand flies stopped us from doing anything!) x

Fish and chips on the beach reminds me of being a kid, no matter what the weather a bag of those bad boys cheer me up no end, especially if theres a battered sausage in there!

Hastings looks beautiful and the building on top of the mountains looks great. I really need to get out and visit some towns, I just love walking around towns, especially ones with beautiful buildings to admire.
