A day in the life

This week I went back to work after christmas (I know there has been a bit of funny business on twitter from people saying people shouldn’t moan because they have worked over christmas) but this week has been rather tiring, its always good to get back into a routine, I have been napping like a crazy cat though. I do get asked a lot buy people how I fit so much into my day (sometimes i do sometimes i dont), recently I have been taking it a lot easier then normal I think the relaxing christmas I have had has been really hard to get over, but my brain is slowly adjusting to the fact it is january.

Typical Working Day

I normally wake up at 5.30 am ,be at work for 7: 30 am , chase children around and teach until 2:45 pm  i often take my orders with me to work and then I walk to the post office and get my orders sent out as soon as possible. Once I am home, i sit down with mum for a quick chat and a cuppa, and then I head to my studio and work on what ever is outstanding today is was tattoo men stickers,  I often do this until about 5 pm and then from there I update my etsy shop, email people and spend a few minutes stalking people on twitter ( totally the truth) I have dinner hang out with the family for a bit ( or I go out with friends for a few drinks or people from work) but if i have orders i turn into a recluse ha!  thats my typical working day.

Typical work from home day

I will often get up at 6:30 am, have breakfast, find out what mum needs help with during the day. I often spend the morning packaging orders and working through my emails I do this with a massive mug of tea, and then its a lovely trip to my local post office to say hello to favourite post office worker, I do a little bit of shopping for mum. Once I am home i paint until about 5 pm leave the studio in a tip and then make dinner and chill with the family until about 8 pm whilst everyone else is getting ready for the next working day I stay up until about 11pm working on painting and tattoo men drawings, through out the day I work through emails and twitter. You can see what I am up to through out the day via my instagram _ellamasters_

So thats both my type of days summed up into a little paragraph. Whats your typical day like?

You're such a busy bee, but I'd rather be busy than sat around doing nothing all day 🙂

Aww I love hearing about peoples days! I sometimes struggle to stay productive. I find getting up early is so good as I tend to get a lot done in the morning whereas the evening I just chill. At the moment I’ve just gone back to uni in Brighton so trying to get back into a routine 🙂

I bet the teaching bit is very tiring… You sound like such a busy person and even though it can get stressful I bet you secretly still love it! On my college days Im there from 9 till half 4 and get home at like half 5. And then I do college work and sleep and eat and try and fit in everything else. I want Christmas holidays back!!! xxx

I wish I could train myself to get up that early ! You sound so productive and motivated which is inspiring really. It's nice how much time you seem to spend with your family. This week I've been going into Uni at 11, working until about 3, go into town with my boyfriend for coffee and to run errands then go home, sort out dinner and dishes and stuff chill out go to bed and do it all over again 🙂 Not a bad way to spend my days but if I could get up earlier I'd try to fit in more exercise and more reading time. I want to read The Graduate and Crash before February. M xo

If only you knew how much you inspire me! I want to be (still studying) literature teacher at the cegep (a thing in Quebec, after High School and before University)but also want to have the time to create (stories, drawings) and having children. And I just love hearing about your routine, it looks so lovely and by the your art is awesome, I am pretty surprise that it is not your only job! So you teach primary school, with little childrens?

My typical day at present involves getting up around half 7 and being in my full time job by 9am. I work, work, work until 5, but sometimes later and whn I get home, I eat then maybe exercise and depending on whats happening, I'll make some things, or write some blog posts. As I have a smart phone, I'll try and tweet during the day or update Facebook etc but the wkend is where I really try to get some work done!
