As part of my series of having a nose into other bloggers, artist and illustrators worlds I thought I would ask the lovely Annie to share her little inspiring work space. Annie blogs over at cher Ami Annie’s work space is filled with beautiful photos, stickers and little notes the perfect space for inspiration and musing, i asked annie a few questions about her space.

Hello! My name is Annie, I blog over at Cher Ami about fashion, lifestyle, music and food. I’m a student and live in a small town in rural South Wales. I love the countryside, the sea, reading, watching films, baking, drawing, writing, music, and having a good time wherever I am! My favourite food is macaroons (don’t know if this counts!), one of my favourite books is How I Live Now by Meg Rosoff, and one film I watched recently and loved is Cemetery Junction.

Talk to me a little bit about your space? and what you have photographed and shared with readers of ella?

Stashed into a corner of my room is my writing desk, which is where I read, dream, draw and do most of my work. It’s quite a small work space but it’s great for people watching and I often get distracted by what’s happening outside the window!

The writing desk was my grandmother’s so it holds a lot of fond memories in its drawers as well as all the stationery! My dad brought the chair when he was a student in the 80’s and originally it was an old station master’s chair. I’ve photographed my favourite sections of my work space, which are; a section of my wall which is my own little art gallery, my two current favourite candles, a D.I.Y pinhole camera my friend gave me and a miniature mini, my favourite music at the moment (I nearly always have music on when I’m at my desk), and the inside of the left-hand drawer on my desk.

 how is your space inspiring for you?

My work space is inspiring to me because of all the photographs and special things on the wall. I love the feeling that I’m the curator of my own little art gallery which exists on the four walls of my room. Mainly there are fashion photos by my favourite photographers such as Arthur Elgort, but there’s also some photos of my friends and family and photos that I’ve taken too. They are all inspirations to me. Like any art gallery, the space is always changing, and so it’s an ongoing process!

what is your wardrobe space like?

My wardrobe space is quite organised, the top half of my chest of drawers holds half and my hanging rail the other half.

Do you use your space as inspiration to blog?

Yes definitely! As I mentioned before the photo’s and pictures on my wall always hold inspiration to me, and I would like to think they are a reflection of my blog.

Who is Cher Ami and the work you create?

I started Cher Ami in August of last year as an outlet for my photography and rambling, and before that I had another blog for one year. However it’s only in the last two months that I’ve started to give more time to it. I’m still in school but I hope to end up doing something which I enjoy and has a large dose of creativity involved!

Do you take your outfit photos inside? What makes for the perfect shot?

I actually take them outside because I prefer a plainer background, but that’s just my opinion! Also I prefer a natural light. I don’t think there is ever going to be a formula for the perfect shot, because different photographs work for different people, but for me I think a story behind the photo is always nice.

Are you messy, tidy, minimal, cluttered? 

I like to be tidy as much as possible but mostly the purchases of charity shop wanderings make this challenging!
