road tripping in the sun.

The scorcher of a weekend was partly spent down on the essex coast with my family, I am such a sucker for the english seaside. We ventured down to West Mersea, its one of mum and dads favourite places. There are some beautiful cottages and cute lanes.

I did a little bit of charity shopping and picked up a few pieces that I want to adjust and resize, I feel in love with some vintage artist shirts that were too expensive for me to even look at let alone buy! Went spent a good few hours sunning ourselves on the beach watching people paddle and boats sail by. I think I became 4 times darker whilst sat on the beach, hello tan lines.

Me and Mum had ice cream to die for, I had chocolate chunk and mum had elderflower and lime, and she WILL NOT stop going on about it. I get the impression she liked it! We got dad a tub of double fudge which I had to dash back from town, then I devoured some olives oops! It was so nice to get out of the studio and spend the day drawing people dipping my toes in the sea and collecting shells. As a child I always wanted to own a shell shop when I was older…true fact, i collected them knew all their fancy names and had a special book to log them all, quite glad I grew out of that faze but could you imagine how amazing my shell shop would be?

Everything ( except for sandals which are primark) I am wearing in my photos was bought second hand, also whist on the beach I wore shorts for the frist time in about 15 years, I was so proud of myself for getting my legs out sounds really silly but when you are overweight and hate your legs thats a big deal!

Isn’t the weather just lovely at the moment, I hope you have been able to enjoy it in someway.

Your pink skirt is super cute! I'm going to make some really similar tonight, the length is perfect!

I'm jealous of your little beach trip. The nearest beach is so far from me, it makes me sad

I used to collect shells as well! I never thought of opening a shop but with the amount I had I probably could have. I love your short sleeved jacket as well x
