East London

Some days as a freelancer are great, being able to take my work with me and draw where ever I want are the perks of my profession so I decided a little impromptu drawing session with Paige was just what i needed. We headed to Hawkhurst Vault to set up camp and get doodling, I had a wedding commission to finish and Paige worked on some new printables. So we sat chatted, painted and doodled for a good few hours. We devoured a rather gooey chocolate brownie and enjoyed a few cups of tea and the occasional Latte.

On our way to the coffee shop we wandered through Spitalfields, every Thursday it is kitted out with some of the best Antiques around, I do love snapping photos but it is sadly over priced, luring those tourists in. I did however spot a basket of cute 1970’s leather booties for Teddy but I did snap any up because I have no idea what size he would be, sucha shame they were beautiful.

I still love wandering around this part of the city, even though I have spent endless hours walking the streets, shopping, eating and partying in this part of town. I love discovering new graffiti and new shops that pop up one month and then disappear. Its always great walking about town with a fellow creative that sees opportunities to snap photos and share ideas.

HOPE YOU’VE HAD A LOVELY DAY

When ever I go to London I end up drawn to Spitalfields and Shoreditch, there is something about the area that just grabs me, and I'm not sure why. I love the huge Sunday markets, but like the antiques, everything is so over-priced and sadly caters for tourists.
    Lovely photos 🙂

When I was a student in New Cross I used to love heading up to Shoreditch for a wander in my spare time. It's fascinating to see how it's changed over the last 10 years or so.
