Beautiful glass…

I just love getting little messages from people who have been taking the time to be creative. Rachel sent me a tweet today with a little picture of the penny jar she created today, from my Penny jar thrifty thursday, its it just wonderful, she also creates wonderful things over on her etsy site

I am a lover of vintage jars, bottles and containers. I have been working on new painted vases for my new vintage shop, and i wanted to share with you all, the bottles that i have, at the moment i have a variety sitting over the allotment so i have been scrubbing and cleaning them all, me and my dad found them all at a victorian dump, eeewww i hear you cry, but believe me there are some beautiful things to be found, i found a miniature 1790’s glass perfume bottle with the label still on it, i love the little bottle.

It is a great feeling to take something that was abandon a century ago and now to give it a new lease of life, my first customer was my mum, (she didn’t pay for it) i gave her a painted victorian vase and she has put homegrown sweet peas in there she loved it. I will be doing a painted vase give away next week.

The Victorian dump doesn't sound ewww to me! It sounds magical! I would love to sift through all those old, discarded treasures… I love old glass bottles. They are just so beautiful.
