lace white dress

I thought I would share with you my love for my Lucia dress from monki, I practically wear it non stop, so I thought I would share with you the two ways I have been wearing it recently. I have always loved layering and mixing textures when it comes to dressing ask my mum I was awful as a child for being the one who through a tantrum if she couldn’t dress herself in the dungaree hot pants and frill knee hight socks yes I was that child. The first outfit is a pretty simple dress vintage denim shirt combo which I obviously had to wear my Tophsop boots to give it a bit of edge. The dress in the second outfit is a little less obvious, i have mixed it with a simple maroon maxi skirt, which is also a favorite of mine. I am really the type of girl that wears the same outfit a few times a week, I normally just add to it rather then wearing something totally different everyday, what with my job its not always best to wear white (I discovered that on my first week teaching hello year 7 art hello orange paint all over my nice favorite dress). So my outfits have to be durable and pretty versatile. I don’t think i own an item of clothing that doesn’t have a paint stain, hair dye or permanent art stain on it, oh the perils of being creative. Is there an item in your wardrobe that is your staple?

Love this dress so much, it's so beautiful! My staple is usually my lightweight green parka that gets thrown over every outfit from band tshirts and jeans to girly dresses and tights – I swear I'm a teenage boy at heart! 🙂 xxx

If I had that dress I'd want to wear it all the time too 🙂

I like that you added a skirt over it, I should really try that one of these days, and if I get something new I wear it loads of times for about a month or so until I get a new thing to obsess over!

Ooh that dress is gorgeous! Ha ha I agree many of my clothes have 'artistic stains' on them, but hey it gives them character. I have a black cape jumper that is my wardrobe staple, it's the item of clothing that I can always style up when I can't find anything else to wear!

I wouldn't take it off either if I owned it, looks stunning and looks awesome with black tights! I got paint all over me when I was screen printing in the first year, well worth it though haha!

Urm.. I would have to say my striped tee, I wear it constantly! That and a pair of jeans. I tend to always re-wear stuff, if it's only had one wear and it's not firty why not ay! Constantly rewearing jeans!

I am a fan of navy and white striped dresses. I have loads that the boyfriend thinks all look the same. I understand your paint covered perils. When teaching Year 3, everything ends up caked in PVA glue etc. I have a work wardrobe and a home wardrobe (I don't think my headteacher would be impressed if I turned up in my other staple- high waisted maroon shorts with gold buttons ) Oh, and my red leather dolly shoes (that go with everything- I posted a pic today 🙂

I was totally that child too! I used to like sneaking back into the house after my mum had got me dressed and sent me out to play, and get changed. My favourite outfit was a green tartan skirt (attached to a silky vest so that it wouldn't fall down but I wouldn't wear a top over that) and teddy bear tights. My mum was always worried that the neighbours thought she had dressed me like that!
