Bright lights and Carousels

There is nothing I love more then heading to the fun fair and enjoying the bright lights, candy floss and the rides. Carter’s fair was in town so we headed out as a family and took in all the beautiful lights, even though the weather was wet we donned our warmest clothes layered and snuggled up we ventured on the rides. Suffering from a broken collar bone, I was designated photographer for the night. I had my first ever ride on the big carousel we sat on a giant slay as I couldn’t sit on the horses (silly collar bone).

How festive and Autumnal do the old fashion rides look? I may have to do a large canvase painting of the first photo, Oh how i have missed creating proper paintings, I think this winter I am going to make the most of my studio space, the fair really inspired me, all the rich colours and lights. Have you ventured anywhere recently that has inspired you?

Looks beautiful, really traditional too which deserves an extra thumbs up! You are the spit of your brother too! 🙂

I go to Wales Saturday and I always find the countryside so awe inspiring. I've not painted for years, I still have a massive canvas up stairs which is unfinished – one day I shall complete it!

Fairground rides and carousels are two of my favourite things in the world! My fathers side of the family used to paint a lot of the carousel horses around the country. I love seeing people enjoy traditional rides like this! x

I love carousels! There's one in Edinburgh I still frequent…
I've just finished my journalism diploma so I'm trying to get inspired just now. Sometimes when you're taught something like writing so much that you forget your little seed of talent that you had in the first place x

I really love carousels, especially at night too! I think they look so beautiful, with all of their detailing and the pretty music they play. I can't believe this one with the Tudor/Kings and Queens of England detailing! If it's historical I have to go on it, haha, lame!
    I love the photo's Ella,
hope your collarbone gets better soon,
    xoxo
P.S I just realised I wasn't following you on GFC, only bloglovin', what madness!

Ah, I love the carousel. There's something infinitely nostalgic about them for almost everyone I reckon. I haven't been anywhere overly inspiring lately but the season is enough to keep me happy! Although I did write this article today about somewhere I went in October 2010 that was absolutely beautiful and still inspires me now: http://www.thecafecat.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/memories-of-october-past-pickity-place.html

It's such a pleasure at the mo to read other blogs that feel the same way I do about autumn. Hope your collarbone mends soon, xxx
