little old me.

Saturday the day of making a mess in my studio / room, perfect for catching up on much needed sleep, wonderful, and the chance to snap a few pictures. I’m currently working on a little painting another practice piece before I do my proper paintings, when it comes to canvas painting i’ve never been the most confident soul, I have to admit, but right now I am loving just getting back into it all. What have you been working on recently?

So in other news lately I have taken up yoga, I tweeted about it the other day, I use to do a bit when I was at uni (that an pilates) , living in a town that was filled with surfers, hippies and students you couldn’t move the amount of yoga classes, so the other day I bought myself a yoga matt from Aldi Β£2 (totally a happy coincidence) I had forgotten how ridiculous calming it is, after stretching my body for the first time properly in years my muscles totally relaxed (believe it or not i’m actually ridiculously flexible cue my old Gymnastic days my flexibility isn’t something I should openly admit to thousands of readers but oh well he he) I remembered a few moves from my old yoga days but I found a really helpful tutorial on youtube jus type in yoga for beginners its perfect, so really there is no excuses not to give it a go.

So these are the first proper photos of my ombre hair, still not sure if its going to stay much longer then a week, everyone at work gave me mixed reviews I guess they are just use to seeing me with darker hair, thank you for all the lovely comments on my previous post about the change in colour, it was such a palaver  to get it to this colour I am still in two minds about it, but I do have all the necessary colours waiting in the wings from me to change so theres no worry there.

I do though have so rather sad news (well not that sad) but after suffering from repetitive strain in my elbows for about 8 years now ( due to too much drawing i know!) i have some how now developed it in my wrists and finger joints ( i’m only 24!)  drawing and painting turns into absolute agony after about 15 minutes Believe me I have used all the tricks in the book to stop the swelling and pain, but to no relief and the sad moment came the other day when I developed shooting pains up my fingers ( hello lovely torn cartilage and lumps) I totally 100% no the answer is too all together stop drawing for 3-6 months to settle it but I genuinely can’t, until then I will be taking arm Ice baths and strapping it up to the max. Maybe i should take up hand yoga…does that even exist? haha!

    Your hair looks beautiful.
I can't imagine going through so much pain to do something as amazing as drawing. I am sorry and I really hope you get better and can fully enjoy art because it is one of my favorite things so I can imagine how much you must love it. πŸ™‚

I'm so sorry about your wrist/elbow/finger pain. I have tendonitis, and carpel tunnel brought on by fibromyalgia and too much making things with my hands. One thing that helped me a little was a regimen of taking anti-inflamitory medication around the clock for at least a month. And also I wore braces on my wrists each night when it was really painful. It helps keep them in a neutral position so they can heal.

I love to hand-write and sketch and paint, but I can only do it in brief stretches. Not fun, but I try to do as much as I can.

I hope you find some relief!

    xx, C

Your Ombre hair looks wonderful, you really really really suit it. Sorry to hear about the RSI in your hands, I know how painful that can be! Whenever I have exams, I tend to get it flaring up in my hands from typing and writing too much – doctors only ever told me to rest, which wasn't really an option haha. Keeping a tubigrip on it and taking little breaks every 15 mins or so was the only thing that helped πŸ™ Hope it's feeling better soon!

I'm a newcomer to your blog, so I'm unsure of what your hair looked like darker. As an outsider, I love it. It really shapes your face. I love your artwork, sorry to hear about your injury xx

    You're a cutie, Ella ^_^

What have I been working on? Nothing, because I'm lazy and unmotivated D:
Yeah, I need to just get off the computer now and actually make something.

Your hair looks gorgeous! ooh i didn't know they did yoga mats in aldi, i've been looking for a cheapy one. i loved going to yoga classes so i really wanna get back into it. I used to get rsi if I would do too much illustrator work on my laptop. you're right, the only thing that helps is to stop doing it so much which i would luckily be able to do after my deadlines. hopefully you can power through it! xx

I think your ombre hair looks really beautiful!
Hope you find some good treatments for your repetitive strains so it doesnΒ΄t affect your everyday life too much!
I stopped by your Etsy shop, and read on your about page – it said that you are inspired by Norweign art – I assume you mean Norwegian? If so, that really makes me proud πŸ˜‰ πŸ™‚

    Have a great Saturday Ella!

Oh no, I'm also sorry to hear about your hands. I would advise you to rest, but you'd probably go mad from not creating!

Also, I think your hair looks really pretty, and I'm gutted I chopped all my hair off so I can't copy you!

Oh Ella!!!! Bless you, you poor thing! I had no idea at all. And your work is just the lovliest prettiest to look at, don;t go making it much worse though. you shall just have to do little bits and pieces here and there or you might do even more damage.

On the hair, i love the ombre, you look beautiful. But you have crazy pretty hair with or without so whatever way it goes i am sure it will look fab xxxxx

I'm a fan of the new hair, I (re)ombred mine the other day and I've had good feedback! Might give yoga a try, I do love a proper stretch (as weird as that sounds!). Hope your hand is feeling better soon, it must be really annoying when it stops you doing the thing you love to do. xx
