Instax weekend with Adam

Stand by the sign, hurry before the train arrives.

Don’t make me wear the hat, people are looking at us, are we going to fit in the picture?

Can I borrow the Instax camera, I love that Bike!

Moody and pensive looking over the river, second attempt.

Hot chocolate makes everything better

things adam is good at : Reading me William Blake poetry, oh my heart!

Things ella is good at : Drinking chocolate milkshake, looking a mess and drawing.

Scooter child messing up my cool graffiti shot!

And pose!

And pose again, for our second trip.

Lovely sunny breakfast before Adam has to go home.

Singing me beautiful things and playing on my Ukulele whilst i drink tea.

A lonely walk home after dropping him off at the coach station, snapping the flowers that we had both commenting on the day before, silly sentimental thing.

So while adam was down in London, I thought a great way to mark him venturing to London for the first time to meet my family was a little Instax snapping session of our ventures around town. We decided that we would head to the Tate Modern as it was the only place in London that he wanted to go, he mainly wanted to look at the Rothko room, I’ll be sharing more with you soon.

I mainly wanted to snap photos of Adam because he has the best beard, we had a bit of a mess up with my Instax camera, we had 2 that came out black, from the first film set, so we were limited to 18 photos for the weekend, each picture becomes rather precious. There is something beautiful and romantic about the instant photo, I do miss using my polaroid camera, I some how managed to convince adam that snapping him was a good idea, to be honest it didn’t take too much persuasion.

We sat outside the Tate for a little while, ate some sandwiches whilst Adam smoked drunk Cider and we talked about random things whilst enjoying the sunset, its such a lovely part of London. The Tate can feel a little claustrophobic, after a while we also went into all three gift shops and I think I was going to faint due to the fact I managed to escape without buying something arty and wonderful.

After a sugar intake, we took a stroll just a few moments away to the Bankside Gallery which is one of my favourite, were we picked up a few cards and Adam bought a little William Blake poetry book and whilst I rested my feet he read me some verses, I do love his deep welsh voice.

We then decided to give some money to a rather talented saxophone player down by the River as we walked towards Waterloo, It was rather busy with children, tourists and people taking in the sights and sun. So if you can’t beat them join them, hello Nutella Frappe, Adam had a Vanilla and we enjoyed sitting together whilst I drew, hello messy!

A weekend really isn’t long enough together, and on the last day is always with a heavy heart, So I made us some breakfast and sat in the sunshine. Adam found my Ukulele and decided to sing to me whilst I read my Art Fund Magazine before we eventually got ready for the day. Whilst up town I took photos on my DSLR, and on my lonely walk home from dropping Adam off at Victoria Coach Station I snapped the flowers that we had both liked the day before, Oh I do miss him.

Weird that an anonymous comment has something negative to say?! Or what's even weirder is that this is a recollection of my day and what I remember or what I care to share is not in anyway dictated by what you have to think….weird? I didnt think So….Remember if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all!

Lovely photos! It looks like you had a lovely time 🙂
I have the most precious photos from my first holiday with my boyfriend, they were developed from a disposable. There is definitely something about instants, and also about film cameras in general, because it's a photo you can never delete. It's special and in the moment!
