Breton tee Zara – similar | Levi shorts – Similar | Vintage Belt
This week has been a tough old one, seen myself stressing over money, people and things more then I probably should or whats good for me. But it has to be done I suppose. I have decided that I really need to work harder and boost my Portfolio which I have been working on sorting today editing and scanning in new work alongside retouching old pieces. It’s been great to go through old work and see how far I’ve come but where exactly I want to aim for, needing to push myself more is something I struggle with. Finding the motivation to work when you’re a Freelancer is something I have been dealing with these past few weeks, especially when you have so much going on around you that’s not so fun. I’m getting there and planning a lot of new projects, clients and filling my diary up with events and more time for myself which I think is key. I have found surrounding myself with creatives and spending time boosting the positive thoughts is a good way of staying on track. I often find myself comparing what I do with others always forgetting everyone is walking their own path, at different speeds and with different obstacles in their way. Social media has made it very easy too see the great side of things and often hiding the struggles and hard work that goes on behind closed doors.
So maybe being hard on ourselves is pretty much a waste of energy and we should be focusing our attention (I speak for myself) on putting positivity into our work and sharing good thoughts with others.
So for the week ahead I have set myself a few tasks, goals and thoughts to encourage self development and positivity.
– Work/live in the moment
– Create one piece of work for me
– Smile more.
– Organise time better
– Spend time with people who are positive
– Do not compare yourself
– Switch your phone off
– Doodle
– spend less on things I don’t need
– Drink more tea that always helps
I am loving everything about today’s work outfit, feel a little bit like Mr Smee from Peter Pan cross between festival Kate Moss, its a simple everyday look for me when I’m working, I rarely wear trousers when I’m at home, I have so many pairs of ripped levi shorts that I throw on and a simple tee. You can see I’m a little obsessed with stripes, so I no longer fight it and if I can find one for £3 in the Zara sale then I’m going to nab that bad boy regardless of having a million similar tees, I know it will be loved.
HOPE YOU’VE HAD A LOVELY DAY

Great goals, and such a simple but classic look! Need more stripes in my wardrobe!

It's definitely a good idea to try not to compare yourself to others – something I am trying to do more as well. You are a beautiful, unique, shiny star 🙂 xxx
Feel like I needed this post tonight, very relatable right now- I think I'll take a leaf out of your book with the goals you've set! Take care lovely x
