solitude

It’s been a while since I have shared any art based blog posts. Recently I have struggled to get to sleep at a sensible hour and I lay in bed doing what I seem to do Oh so well, Over thinking. I’m great at it, probably the best around. So I decided rather then over think silly little things I will channel that into a painting, not a commission, or something I might sell, a painting for paintings sake. Somehow my hobby has turned into my job and I’m so grateful for that but I do often forget to paint for me.

Painting is my way of relaxing, chills me out and makes me focus solely on what I’m creating not the drama that’s going on around me and I am so grateful I have found a release. I created a Bohemian looking lady with flowers in her hair just to play around with colour and pattern, any excuse  to use my Turquoise watercolour pan I’m all over it!

I found myself at 3 am putting pencil to paper turning on bbc iplayer watching a documentary about art and just spending those early hours of the morning with my paint pallet, a brush and a large green eyed lady staring at me ready to be brought to life.

HOPE YOU’RE HAVING A CREATIVE DAY

Of late I too find I sometimes have difficulty sleeping. My solution finds me listening to self awareness/development tapes in the wee hours!
    happy snoozing I say 🙂

I totally get the painting for painting's sake. Painting really relaxes me too. Someday I'd like to sell a painting, but I haven't gotten there quite yet! But I'm content with it being a hobby for now. Looks great, by the way!

What a wonderful use of that energy. It is so easy to get sucked into that worrisome spiral and yet so hard to claw your way out, so bravo for aiming that focus at your talent and letting those crappy thoughts develop and dissolve into this work of love.

    Beautiful art work.

This is so detailed and beautiful.
Sometimes the early hours of the morning are the best time to create; the whole world takes on a different shine and it's an amazing space to inhabit for awhile.
