What 2019 has in store my venture into silversmithing

So 2019 is here, and last year zoomed past me so far I was nearly treading water. I have exactly set myself any concrete goals, but I wanted to push myself so I can be taking every opportunity that I can. So I have been toying with the idea for years to attend a silver smithing class. Today I finally plucked up the courage to book the course, they added a new date sooner then the one I wanted so I just jumped at the chance.

I do still want to pursue my illustration career in 2019, I just have the ability to pursue my love for jewellery as well. I opened my Jewellery shop Love and Luck back in June 2018 and really without me pushing it, its done really well. I am still finding my feet organising all the stock ( seems to be my hardest task) Not entirely sure how to stock thousands of little goodies but its a learning curve isn’t it?

I decided to sign up for the London Jewellery School Beginners silver jewellery course, I want to brush up on soldiering techniques and to have far more confidence with the tools I already have. So I am kind of throwing myself into it a bit, but I think I kind of have to or ill be talking myself out of things.

I have a lot of findings I want to turn into new rings and pendants. As much as I will be bringing new pieces to life they will have elements of old, recycled and re loved pieces. I want to be able to create future heirlooms, in a world of disposable items I want the pieces to last. So here is to discovering something new.
